A Letter to Ash

Hello All. I have recently started this blog because I love to read! I wanted to be able to share these books with others so that they have the chance to read some amazing books and find some fantastic new authors to enjoy. I will do my best to post a review each week, but I have many other obligations that may make me a few days late. I hope you all enjoy the reviews.

Now on to the purpose of this post. Julie Kagawa is having a contest on her blog. Readers may choose a character from her Iron Fey series to whom they may write a letter. The winner will receive a hand written letter from that character as well as a signed copy of The Iron Queen. No spoilers will be answered. Have fun with it if you choose to participate. =)

Dear Prince Ash,

I hope that you are doing well. =) I have been reading about you and must tell you that I find your adventures to be truly amazing. When I was first introduced to Meghan, Puck, and yourself I knew that I had stumbled upon something unique and wonderful. I was immediately drawn into the stories and I could not get enough. They are dangerous, but full of passion and friendship. You, dear Ash, are the most captivating. You may be an Ice Prince, but you are full of fire. You exude strength and confidence throughout each adventure, even when you are faced with danger and the possibility of death. I commend you for your loyalty and dedication to others and to your commitments. So many humans do not possess either quality. I really could go on and on about how intriguing and exciting you are. Seeing as how you are not yet as conceited as Puck, I would like to keep it that way. I wouldn't want you to get a big head (figuratively speaking). I have many questions for you and maybe one day I will have to opportunity to ask you all of them. For now, I will try to keep my letter short as I have already been rambling about your greatness. I wonder about your future and as I am sure you do, but alas I know that even with your extraordinary Winter Fey abilities you do not know what awaits you in the future. If you have the time, then I would love it if you would answer some questions about your past. I would appreciate it greatly! =) My first question is one that I have had since reading about your latest travels and encounters with the Iron Fey. I know that you had a very serious relationship with Ariella and loved her very much. However, if she also felt the same then why did she not make you her Knight or did she release you so that you would be free to love again? If she didn't already (as I suspect) do you think she wanted to or had planned on it? Would you have accepted? Is there more about her that would like to share? I am interested in learning more about her if it doesn't make you too sad to discuss. Although you blame Puck for what happened, would you try to get out of the promise that you made if you were able? Would you ever really be friends again even if you did?I am also curious about Queen Mab's territory, N. It seems so beautiful and terrifying at the same time. I know you avoid the court because of the way they prey on the weak and manipulate them. You once said that Ariella was strong and that she never let them get to her. If it bothered you, why did you not take a stand? Would it be disobeying Queen Mab to protect Ariella or yourself even? Sage seemed different from the rest of the court as well. Do you think he would have helped you? Since we are already on the subject, were you and Sage close? Did you do many activities together? What are your favorite memories? Also, since you love to hunt and are quite an exceptional fighter, would you like to teach others? Even Meghan commented on your ability to teach a class with your knowledge and skill. What other hobbies do you have? Are you secretly very artistic? If so, I will not share that information with others. If you and Meghan had stayed in the mortal world, where would you have like to visit? Once you were able to have a place of your own, where would it be? What would it look like? I wish I was able to ask you more questions so that I could learn more about you. I hope that we can communicate again in the future. Good luck in your journey! May you find the answers you seek and the happiness you deserve. I wish you well, but I have a feeling you won't need it. =) Thank you for taking the time to read my letter. I know that you are busy and do not have much time to waste.

Sincerely,

A loyal follower and hopeful friend

P.S. Would you please put in a good word to Julie Kagawa. She is having a contest and it would really make me happy if I won. I chose to write to you, Ash, because you are enchanting. You try to hide your emotions, but sometimes they show. You are a unique Fey and I hope you never change!
